Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA)

A typical pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape includes carrier, adhesive,  additives, and release liner. Certainly substrates, where the PSAs are attached to, are equally important.

Depending on the applications requirements, with sophisticated design,  all kinds of  functional PSA  tapes can be developed:

In addition, another critical issue is how to mimic the real application conditions or most likely, develop an accelerated conditions to evaluate products’ performances in lab environments. Internal testing methods should align with internationally standards to deliver meaningful or comparable results.

In PSA industry tests cover very wide range of fields, typically including:

    • Chemical: GC, MS, NMR, LC, GPC, ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and some  other common tests are included in other categories.
    • Electrical/Electromagnetic: Impedance, Dielectric constant, 4 point probe for resistance measurement, EMI shielding, Hall effect, Static
    • Electrochemical: CV measurement
    • Mechanic:
    • Optical: XRD, FTIR, Raman, Microscope, Colormeter, UPS/XPS, Ellipsometer, Gloss, Transmittance/Clarity/Haze, Scattering for particle size distribution, Refractive Index
    • Rheology:
    • Surface Analysis: Roughness, Contact Angle, ToF-SIMS, XPS, XRF, AES, SEM-EDS, Surface Energy
    • Thermal: Glass transition temperature, CTE, DSC, TMA, TGA, Thermal conductivity, Thermal shrinkage
    • Flame Retardant:
