Web spreading is a critical technology to remove wrinkles in web handling. There are three techniques to achieve the purpose:
Bow roll spreading
Important points
- Wrap angle: Wrap angle should not be too large; about 20′ is good
- Distance: entry to spreader: spreader to exit=2:1
Scroll roll type spreading
Scroll roll has two long lead threads, symmetric from the center, which lead the web spreading on the roll surface.
Unevenly stressed rubber sleeve type spreading
Benefits:
- Bowless, smooth roll provides zero-web distortion
- Independent edge-to-edge adjustability even when web is in motion
- Easy installation
