This reaction is considered to be the reason behind of the “lock-up” of acrylic PSA and Silicone release liner (Ref.1).
Reaction between release agent and Paper
However, in case of the glycol component of the adhesive migrate through the silicone layer to the interface of adhesive and paper substrate, a debonding of release coating might occur as shown in the above figure (Ref 2).
